One Upon a Time in America, on March 7th, 1982, JGB delivered a Flawless performance that remains one my favorites of all time. This Boy's Life hasn't been the same since. The Sugaree opener could be The Godfather of all versions, and the catfish is most delectable. Sure they overplayed Second That Emotion, but Jerry brings the Heat in this version that would even get Frankenstein moovin' and a groovin'. Tangled up in Blue is a Raging Bull! Jerry is on a Mission tonight!

With Great Expectations from this audience at this point, the Goodfellas begin set 2 with about 15 Minutes of Stone diamond perfection with The Harder They Come. There are no Sleepers in this set either! Like a Taxi Driver in New York, New York, Jerry's fingers fiercely fly all over the place with amazing precision in this Mystery Train that showcases the big man's Limitless talents. Right now i'm Falling In Love with the Knockin' On Heaven's Door that follows. It's as smooth as Johnny Chan is in a Casino.

Then we get a fantastic Tore Up Over You. Jerry's fingers on his axe is akin to a highly skilled Ronin wielding a Machete. In case folks didn't realize What Just Happened, Jerry and company cap things off with a Midnight Moonlight as big as Brazil. This show is a Godsend, and you all will be happier for having listened to it.

no no elbow, i said that the knockin' was "as smooth as Johnny Chan in A Casino." I didn't say, "as smooth as Johnny Chan IN Casino.

I assumed that upper case C meant you were talking about another one of your movies.

I was talking about another one of my movies! You're not familiar with Casino? De Niro, Pesci, Sharon Stone, James Woods, Kevin Pollack. Hell even Don Rickles is in it lol!

Now your just talking in circles. Now wonder you make such shitty movies anymore. Yes that was the point, Chan was not in Casino, he was in Rounders, but you weren't.

you're missing what i'm saying! When did I ever imply Johnny Chan was in Casino? I said, LIKE Johnny Chan IN A Casino.

re-read my original post carefully, and you will that you are the one that is mistaken sir.

this is silly, i pointed out already that i was confused by your use of the uppercase C in Casino. Thus i thought you were talking about the movie not a gambling establishment which is a casino. You came back with discussion of the movie which confused me more. Don't worry, i get confused rather easily.

Just goes to show how important capitals are. There's all the difference in the world between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.

anyone know of a knockin' on heaven's door that tops this one? the only contender i've found is 1978-10-28. that version could make a grown man weep like a baby.

August 13, 1984. Then again every song this night is an all time classic. IMHO, the best Jer concert EVER!

Just checked out the March '82 Knockin, ridiculous version, thank you. I'll still stand by my Aug '84 NH show tho. Now I have to go dig up that '78 and check it out. I'm on a JGB kick recently.

Thanks - I've never seen that list before. Can you tell me what it is? Is it just an index of internet archive shows?

Looks like the JGB is one long file? Are all of the shows single files?

Sugarmegs is one of the most famous archives of free, legal, concert recordings ever created. It currently hosts over 50,000 live shows.

All shows are 1 file, unfortunately. I just uploaded the show here so you can grab it and skip around the show. check my original post.

Awesome - thank you. Did you have to separate the tracks yourself? What a pain.

I wonder why all of Sugarmegs concerts would be one track each. Who listens to music like that?!

I never bothered separating the tracks. I just put the show in iTunes so I could change the eq settings and skip around the show if i want. i'm not sure why all the shows are 1 file, but it can get annoying if you want to skip songs on certain shows.

You bounced the thread and personally have no problem with that other than to say the Archive is more advanced compared to SugarMegs in terms of digital organization and data retrevial.

nope i'm not sure rb! yes, some points were slightly exaggerated to include my bob references. HOWEVER, this is still one my top 5 shows from the '80s. and it's absolutely essential listening for jgb fans. certainly one of The Untouchables.
